M.I.A....... this has been a totally crazy week. DS has been sick sick sick. He's thrown up more about ten times and I've totally lost track of all of the diarrhea diapers and the number of outfits he's gone through. DH was working 15 hour days and I couldn't go anywhere, so I was in lock down with a sick and not happy two year old. I had always thought that I wanted a cuddly baby, but after this week I'm glad that DS is as independent as he (usually) is. Then DH flew out to Iowa on Thursday for one last interview at the medical school there. We should know where we are going in the next couple of months. So much to do before then. I'm working on typing up my Great Grandfather's journals and it's quite an interesting experience, it's so fun to get to know him through his own words and writing. He even got ink on his fingers a few times as he was writing, so his fingerprints have been left throughout the journals. I now just have to go on an excursion to find out what happened to all of the pictures he talks about in his journal..... hmmmm. I had another "photoshoot" with my niece this time, she's much more mobile so it was a lot more difficult to get clear shots with my 100% manual camera. Here are a few of my favs...

She was such a great little model, too cute! I just got a new Digital Canon Rebel, it is amazing and I absolutely LOVE it. I got it on sale for a great price and can't wait to really get to use it!!

Today I dusted off my old manual camera. (a yashica, probably circa 1965ish) and tried to remember how to use it. I took pics of the most adorable little guy, such a sweet heart. Here are some of my favs.

Yes, it totally made me baby hungry. I also went to costco today (to develope the pics) and found some AWESOME photo storage boxes. They are leather and have small divider boxes inside. They are also 5x7 which is a dream. I'm totally excited about them. Oh yeah, and they were $4 off!!! This morning DS did the cutest thing. DH had to be at work at 6 am, so after he left DS came in and cuddled in bed with me. He fell back asleep and when I moved he said "Daddy" (I was sleeping on DH's side) and I said "No, Mommy" and with his eyes still closed he smiled and said "oh, mommy" and gave me a kiss. Too cute. It's the best feeling in the world when you know that your little one loves you!

It's amazing how you can have the best of intentions as a mother and yet are always undermined by your child. Today I had the bright idea of getting my 2 year old some chalk to color with. It's not permanent by any means and I'm bringing my childhood easel home in a week or so, so I thought it would be good for him to start using it. Dumb, dumb mother. I now have chalk ground into the carpet, all over the entertainment unit and (I am almost positive) in my DS's belly. He has this amazing talent of appearing innocent every time you look over, but then when you get closer utter chaos has ensued. (I'm like 10 ft away, how could 10 ft make that big of a difference???) Sigh, just another adventure for me tomorrow! Today I tried to accomplish too much in too little time! Sound familiar? I'm constantly doing this to myself. I just always think, I can totally fit that in, so I try, and just end up frazzled, stressed and constantly running late. When will I ever learn? I made funeral potatoes for the first time (and probably last!) today. They are oh so yummy and oh sooooo bad for you! I think once I got the hang of them they would be a cinch to make, but today it took me 1 1/2 hours!!! And that was after my forever trip to wal-mart for groceries. I have a poopy wal-mart. I always say I don't ever want to go there again and I always forget and have an "interesting" adventure. Today I made 5 trips through the produce section looking for green onions and finally found some in the organic section. Now I'm all for organic produce, etc. but I'm not necessarily all about the added price. I could have bought quite a bit of scrapbooking paper for what those onions cost me!! :) This evening dh, ds and I went to an extended family party. It was dh's grandmother's birthday and muliple other people's birthdays and two cousins mission call/farewells. It was fun to get with the whole family. There are two other boys just older than DS (1 yr older) that he loves to play with, of course he's huge compared to them, but they are all so cute together! Now I'm working on my latest project, folding a million cd covers oragami style. I'm excited to have it all organized, etc. We have about 600 CD's and I think this will save us tons of space. I'm also trying to back up all of my pictures. I've been meaning to forever and then my sister's hard drive crashed and she lost all of hers, so I guess I've found my motivation!

I.AM.TIRED.. It's been a long day. I've done laundry, went grocery shopping, stopped at Circuit City and Best Buy, both of which did not have the cd sleeves that I was looking for. (those things can be expensive!!!)(I'm thinking I may have to make my own...) I also went to Lowes and bought molding, dif, screw anchors, some paint chips and got the molding cut. Then I came home, put DS down for a nap and got to work. I fixed the towel holder in the main bathroom and put the moldings in. Have you ever thought about how hard it is to hammer down boards behind the toilet???? Nearly impossible... for a woman anyways. (Physiology!)Then I caulked the ENTIRE bathroom. Hubby went for pizza (Thanks hun!!). Then I striped wallpaper off one of the walls in the other bathroom. Now I'm relaxing, sigh. Why this push on the house? Because I have suddenly realized that we are moving in 6 months and I have a lot to finish here! I still have to get the windows and carpet replaced and replace the carpet in our bathroom with tile. (seriously, who in the heck puts carpet in a bathroom??? AND no fan?!?) Put molding in the kitchen and touch up the paint throughout the house. Oh yeah, and I forgot about finishing striping the wallpaper in our bathroom and painting it, the office and the wall in our bedroom that DS drew all over. Sounds do-able, right? I just want to get it all done asap so that I can actually enjoy it a little bit before we move. We are thinking that we'll probably end up moving to Ohio or possibly Iowa. DH has been accepted at 2 med schools in Ohio and has an interview in Iowa at the end of the month. I'm anxious to make a decision and start planning. I'm just trying to see the adventure in it all!

Okay, it's been forever AGAIN! I'm still alive and still kicking..... barely. December was great, my baby turned 2 and we had a wonderful christmas celebration that seemed to go on forever. We celebrated our 3rd anniversary and rang in the new year playing games with family. It was a great month. Now it's back to reality! I've got lots of cleaning and de-junking to do, especially since we're moving in a couple of months. DH has been accepted to 3 medical schools, wait listed at one and just got another interview at another. We're thinking we'll probably end up in Ohio, but we'll see. I've decided to downsize our cd and dvd collection, not by getting rid of any (that would be blasphemy in this house!!) But by putting all of the cases in storage and putting all of the disks into plastic sleeves and then into drawers. This is what I would LOVE to get....

But this is what I'll probably have to make do with:

I was thinking I'd get two or three and stack them on one another. We'll see, maybe I can convince DH to get me a smaller version of the first one for my birthday!
